Q. Did you ever regret having bariatric surgery?

Yes, I did regret having bariatric surgery at one point in time. While the surgery was successful in helping me to lose weight, it caused a series of additional issues that took me some time to work through.
In the short term, right after the procedure I had severe nausea and vomiting due to an extreme intolerance for certain foods. Too often, pre-surgery diets are not followed closely enough by patients so they have minimal nutritional preparation when going into the surgery (this was certainly true for me). Afterwards, various foods were off-limits and even those that weren’t required much smaller portions than before along with more restricted types of food groups like carb-heavy choices or fatty options. The adjustment period is difficult; fortunately I had excellent medical care as well as psychological support from friends and family who understood what I was going through.
The other issue has been long term: vitamin deficiencies can occur because digestion is slower than normal post surgery which causes many micronutrients to go undigested and lost during regular elimination processes like defecation or urination -- this can lead to serious health complications if left unmonitored through careful monitoring via blood tests and dietary adjustments over time. Without proper understanding these symptoms can manifest into more serious issues easily mistaken for unrelated concerns such as anemia or fatigue due excessive body mass index reductions leading to malnourishment if eating habits aren't adjusted accordingly—with guidance from medical professionals—following bariatric surgery.
Regretting my decision doesn't mean that it wasn’t right; instead it means that there has been a learning process involved with this journey on how best manage all aspects of life with post-operative considerations included in the daily picture. When weighing whether or not taking this step makes sense one should consider all angles before making a decision with their physicians assistance whenever possible so they can achieve optimal results while minimizing any risks associated with such a procedure if taken lightly without proper followups afterwards..
