Q. Is the heart rhythm constantly 96 beats per minute normal?
Doctor Answer is medically reviewed by SecondMedic medical review team.
Generally speaking, the normal range of a resting heart rate is between 60 and 100 beats per minute. A healthy adult's heart rate should usually be below 90 bpm when at rest. In some cases, however, a slightly higher or lower resting heart rate can still be considered within normal limits. For example, younger adults and athletes often have a slightly faster (higher) resting heart rate than adults who are not as physically active.
Generally speaking having an average resting heartbeat of 96 beats per minute (bpm) is considered to be normal but it could indicate underlying health issues that require further investigation by your doctor. Anytime your regular Resting Heart Rate (RHR) exceeds 100 bpm for more than several minutes in duration can mean you’re suffering from a condition known as sinus tachycardia which indicates that one or more areas of your cardiovascular system may need attention and should receive prompt medical evaluation if any symptoms develop such as chest pain, shortness of breath or dizziness while being inactive or at rest.
When regularly measured over time even seemingly small differences in RHR can reveal interesting information about overall health status and alert doctors to possible abnormalities before they become serious conditions requiring urgent treatment or hospitalization. For instance if you consistently experience an abnormally high RHR it could be indicative of stress-related issues, overtraining due to too much physical activity/ exercise or poor dietary habits that lead to dehydration among other factors like certain prescribed medications & supplements etcetera affecting cardiac performance negatively overtime due to overuse/ misuse etcetera so don’t neglect this important warning sign from your body!
By monitoring one's own RHR with devices like fitness trackers & smart watches combined with lifestyle changes like proper diet & frequent moderate exercise which also happens to improve mental wellbeing – you can obtain valuable insights into the effects of all aforementioned factors on cardiac performance ultimately helping people stay proactive towards achieving long-term health goals efficiently!
