Q. what is Conjunctivitis?
Doctor Answer is medically reviewed by SecondMedic medical review team.
Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, which is the thin, clear tissue that lines the inside of your eyelids and covers the white part of your eyes. It can cause redness, discharge, itchiness and a feeling that something is in your eye. Conjunctivitis is usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection, but it can also be caused by an allergic reaction. Most cases of conjunctivitis are treated with antibiotic or antiviral eyedrops or ointments.
