DAPAGLYN M 500 TABLETS 15S is an antidiabetic medicine that is primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in combination with a healthy diet and exercise. In type 2 diabetic patients with heart disease, DAPAGLYN M 500 TABLETS 15S also reduces the risk of heart failure. Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood sugar levels. Insulin resistance occurs when the pancreas (an organ behind the stomach) produces little or no insulin, or when the pancreas (a hormone generated by the beta cells of the pancreas) produces little or no insulin at all. In type 1 diabetes, DAPAGLYN M 500 TABLETS 15S is not recommended.
DAPAGLYN M 500 TABLETS 15S is a combination of two anti-diabetic drugs: metformin and dapagliflozin. Metformin is a biguanide that helps people with diabetes, especially those who are overweight. It has a nonpancreatic action, which means it lowers blood glucose without boosting insulin secretion. Gliflozins are a group of drugs that include dapagliflozin. It works by removing extra sugars from the body through urine, lowering blood sugar levels.
