Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Telma 40 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

ACE inhibitors can be good and bad for your kidneys. These are medications that tend to end in “-il,” like lisinopril, enalapril, and ramipril. ACE inhibitors are popular drugs for high blood pressure and heart failure.

You should not stop taking Envas without consulting your doctor. Doing this can suddenly increase your blood pressure which may cause a risk of heart attack or stroke. If you experience any side effects, talk to your doctor who will prescribe you another medicine.

The usual dosage range is 10 to 40 mg per day. Your doctor will decide if you take the drug once or twice per day. The maximum dose is 40 mg per day. If youre using enalapril with a diuretic, your starting dose should be 2.5 mg taken by mouth once per day.

Inform your doctor that you are taking Envas, before surgery, especially when the use of general anesthetic (to put you to sleep) is recommended. This is done because Envas can reduce your blood pressure when it is used with an anesthetic. Hence, your doctor may advise you to stop taking Envas 24 hours before surgery.

No, Envas does not cause excessive urination (loss of water through urine). The use of Envas may not affect normally functioning kidneys. However, damage to the kidneys may occur when Envas is given with a diuretic (water pill, a medicine that increases the urine output). In such a case, either the diuretic should be discontinued or its dose should be reduced. If you have severe heart failure or your kidneys are already affected then there is a risk of kidney failure. However, timely and appropriate treatment can reverse the damage caused to kidneys.

You have to be careful when taking Envas with hydrochlorothiazide, as it can further decrease your blood pressure. You may also develop symptoms of kidney failure, such as a reduced amount of urine, swelling of your legs, ankles, and feet from retention of water. While some may experience unexplained shortness of breath, excessive drowsiness or fatigue, persistent nausea, confusion, pain or pressure in your chest and seizures (fits). These symptoms usually occur if there is substantial water or salt loss prior to starting Envas. Therefore, if you face any such issues contact your doctor who will either advise you to discontinue hydrochlorothiazide or give a lower dose. The doctor may also advise you Envas in very low doses when used in combination with hydrochlorothiazide.

Blood pressure-lowering effects are seen within an hour of oral administration with peak effects achieved by four to six hours. Blood pressure-lowering effects are maintained for at least 24 hours, although in some patients these effects may diminish towards the end of 24 hours.

People taking ACE inhibitors or ARBs should limit their intake of high-potassium foods like bananas, oranges, avocados, tomatoes, white and sweet potatoes and dried fruits —, especially apricots.

In rare cases, Envas may cause yellowing of skin and eyes, loss of appetite and an increase in liver enzymes. It can also cause considerable damage to the liver and even death. Therefore, if you experience any such symptoms, call your doctor immediately.
